Menus and opening hours on La Digue can change quickly, and also depend on the Holidays and day of the week. So I always recommend checking the latest reviews on TripAdvisor or Google Maps before you go.

Best La Digue restaurants
Le Repaire
Area: Anse Reunion
Cuisine: Italian
Open for: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Romantic beachfront setting
Le Repaire is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving Italian cuisine on La Digue.
This Italian restaurant has a very romantic and laid-back atmosphere, with beautiful ocean views, perfect for a relaxed dinner after a day of cycling around the island.
I always try one of their traditional wood-fired pizzas (which are delicious and, in my opinion, the best pizzas in Seychelles). They also serve seafood and pasta dishes, all prepared with a mix of Italian recipes and fresh local ingredients. Prices are a bit higher than at cafés or takeaways, but I always find it worth it for the quality, the setting, and the feeling of treating myself to a special meal.
Besides the restaurant, Le Repaire is also one of the best places to stay on La Digue, so even if you’re not a guest, it’s worth visiting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Or just come for a delicious cocktails or mocktails.

Chez Jules
Area: Anse Banane
Cuisine: Creole, Seafood
Open for: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Authentic flavors, ocean views, tortoises nearby
Chez Jules is one of the best restaurants in Seychelles and one of the best restaurants on La Digue. I always stop here if I decide to cycle to this side of the island, or if I just want to pet giant tortoises wandering nearby, Anse Bananas.
I love their ‘famous’ octopus curry with coconut milk and a fresh tuna steak. I also enjoyed homemade mango ice cream. They also have Coconut ice cream, but I liked it more in Coco Rouge, one of the best Praslin restaurants.
Here, you can try some local Creole delicacies like fruit bat curry and fruit bat civet. I have to mention that prices are on the higher end compared to other restaurants on the island. Portions are generous, and the setting is nice, but this place might not be the best place to dine if you are visiting Seychelles on a budget.

Nature Bar & Grill
Area: La Passe
Cuisine: Barbecue
Open for: Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Relaxed vibe, sunset views
Nature Bar & Grill is where I love to go for a laid-back dinner with stunning views. It is close to the La Passe village, but just far enough to get the more relaxed vibe.
If I’m in the mood for a grilled fish dishes, tasty burger, or a set of cocktails from their beach bar with a sea view, this is where I go. Other phrase the grilled lobster, but I haven’t tried it.
I do love the atmosphere – the sand under your feet, palm trees, and ocean breeze make it feel like a true island escape. Others might think that as well, as this place is always busy especially at beautiful sunset.
Prices are mid-range, but generous portions and fresh ingredients make it an excellent value. I’d call it one of the best price-to-performance restaurants on La Digue.

Fish Trap restaurant La Digue
Area: La Passe
Cuisine: Creole, Seafood
Open for: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Close to the ferry, beachfront, family-friendly
Fish Trap Restaurant & Bar is where I have my breakfast, as they are right across the street from La Digue Self-Catering Apartments, where I stay in La Digue. Breakfast here is delicious, but the service is a bit slow for my taste.
I’ve had lunch and dinner a couple of times, and they are a great spot for a casual, authentic Creole meal. I love their grilled fish and fresh fruit juices. The restaurant has a welcoming, laid-back vibe that’s perfect for families or anyone who wants a no-fuss dining experience.
Prices are reasonable, making it a great alternative to pricier restaurants.

Tarosa Bar & Restaurant and Tarosa Takeaway
Area: La Passe
Cuisine: Indian, Seychellois
Open for: Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: View of the sea, relaxed outdoor seating
Tarosa Bar & Restaurant is located right next to the jetty of La Digue Harbour. This is where my tour guests usually have their happy hour cocktails, with lovely outdoor seating, just across the street from La Digue self-catering apartments.
They have an affordable menu, and serve Indian food and Seychelles cuisine. I’ve only eaten here once, but I did take advantage of their Tarosa take-away in front of the main restaurant multiple times.
The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and if you happen to visit on the 1st of May or 31st of October, this is usually the place to join in for a big island party.

Mimi’s Café
Area: Heart of La Digue
Cuisine: Café, Desserts, Light meals
Open for: Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon snacks
Why visit: Coconut cheesecake and coconut ice cream
Mimi’s Café is a small but charming spot in the heart of La Digue. While this is more like a café than a restaurant, they serve sandwiches, smoothies, and fresh juices, but the real stars are the desserts.
It’s my mandatory stop after the Anse Coco hike, where I always order the best coconut cheesecake, I’ve tasted during my Seychelles travel, paired with coconut ice cream.
Once, the owner even made a batch of coconut ice cream just for my tour group on a Sunday, when they are usually closed. She has a heart of gold!
Prices are reasonable, and the café is a bit off the beaten path, making it perfect for a casual stop when you want something quick yet delicious. I’d say it’s a place you’ll return to just for dessert.

Best La Digue takeaways
Gala Takeaway
Area: L’Union
Cuisine: Creole
Open for: Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Generous budget-friendly portions closest to Anse Source d’Argent
Gala Takeaway is one of my favorite spots for a quick and affordable meal. It happens to be the closest takeaway to Anse Source d’Argent, which makes it super convenient if you want to grab lunch and bring it back to the beach for a picnic with a view.
Yes, you can get out and back in from L’Union Estate (Anse Source d’Argent), only if you don’t rip off your bracelet/entrance ticket.
The menu is straightforward and offers Creole and some European dishes, from curries, burgers, salads, and fries. Prices are among the lowest you’ll find on the island, and portions are big enough to keep you full.

Ray & Josh Takeaway
Area: heart of La Digue
Cuisine: Creole
Open for: Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Great value for money and tasty local food
Ray & Josh Takeaway is one of my go-to spots when I want a filling meal without spending too much. It is located in the heart of La Digue and is a perfect stop when exploring La Digue South beaches, or when finding a place for lunch or dinner after a day on Anse Source d’Argent.
Here you can taste some of the best Creole cuisine. Their Creole curries (chicken or fish) are always a winner, and I also love grabbing samosas or stir-frys. Portions are generous, and prices are some of the lowest you’ll find on the island. Here you will get one of the best-value meals in La Digue.
There’s limited seating, so I often grab my meal to go and eat it on the beach. If you are coming for dinner, don’t forget to bring a torch or flashlight as there are no street lights on La Digue.

Zerof Takeaway and Zerof Restaurant
Area: L’Union
Cuisine: Creole
Open for: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Affordable, delicious meals close to Anse Source d’Argent
Zerof Takeaway is one of the most popular spots for affordable, home-style Creole food on La Digue. It’s located right by L’Union Estate, making it a perfect stop before or after exploring the island’s most famous beach. If you’re planning your trip, don’t miss my guide on how to visit Anse Source d’Argent.
There is Zerof Takeaway, Zerof Restaurant, and also Zerof Guest House. I’ve eaten in both and have to say the value for money is great. I’ve had grilled fish and curry. If you are lucky, you will get to try their Creole buffet.
The setup is simple, but if you want authentic Creole food at budget-friendly prices, Zerof Takeaway is a solid choice.

Avalunch La Digue
Area: La Passe
Cuisine: Creole
Open for: Lunch, Dinner
Why visit: Affordable meals close to the port
Avalunch is one of those little gems on La Digue where you get simple, hearty Creole food at a very good price. Avalunch is a popular takeaway place, but there’s usually a relaxed, homely vibe if you want to sit down.
Food is delicious, and the menu is similar to the other takeaways on the island. It is a great stop on your way back from Anse Severe or Anse Patates. Perfect for a casual dinner after a long beach day.
Prices for the takeaway menu are lower than those for an eat-in meal. I like coming here when I want a no-fuss, budget-friendly meal that still tastes homemade. Just make sure to order “no spicy’’ if you are not a fan of spicy food.

Other places to eat on La Digue
Le Nautique Restaurant La Digue
Le Nautique Waterfront Restaurant is one of the most stylish La Digue restaurants, set right by the water with stunning sunset views. This beautiful restaurant is a part of boutique hotel with an outdoor seating area. I’ve heard great things about their seafood menu and wine selection, but haven’t tried it myself. Prices are on the higher side, but I believe the food quality and dreamy setting make it worth the splurge.
Coco Bar
Having lunch at Coco Bar on Anse Cocos Beach is the perfect reward after hiking to Anse Coco. Their delicious grilled fish, with noodles, lentils, and salad, is served fresh from the grill and full of flavor. It’s a simple beachside spot that makes the experience even better. They also make delicious fruit smoothies!

Glorious Bakery
Glorious Bakery is the best stop for fresh bread, sweet pastries (like carrot cake), takeaway pizza, and local snacks on La Digue. It’s a small place, but everything is baked fresh daily. It is affordable, close to the jetty, and perfect for a quick breakfast or just a sugary treat.
Fruita Cabana Bar
Fruita cabana is one of the two bars on Anse Source d’Argent beach. Here you can get water, fresh fruit and refreshing drinks. You can choose from fresh coconuts, tropical fruit juices (like passionfruit or mango), and cocktails made with local Takamaka rum.

Supermarkets on La Digue
La Digue has a handful of small supermarkets and Family Marts where you can stock up on essentials like fruit, pasta, or snacks. They’re not big, but if you’re staying in a self-catering apartment or a budget-conscious traveler who wants flexibility while staying on La Digue, those are perfect. Depending on which one you choose, they also sell Takamaka Rum, which is one of the best souvenirs to get home from Seychelles.
