Location
La Digue Self-Catering Apartments is located right in the center of La Passe, the main village on La Digue Island in Seychelles. They offer a perfect mix of convenience and tranquility.
I’ve found the location incredibly practical, as both of the buildings of La Digue Self-Catering Apartments (Bord Mer and Mills Complex) are close to the port. This is perfect if you arrive with Cat Cocos from Praslin or Mahe and want to settle in right away.
Bord Mer is right next to Fish Trap restaurant on the beach, and Tati’s bicycle rental is less than a 5-minute walk from the ferry. Mills Complex is another minute walk away.

What I loved the most about this stay is that everything I needed was within walking distance. I could walk to nearby beaches, restaurants, markets, and grocery shops, or grab a meal at one of the village eateries.
Being so close to the ferry meant I never felt rushed getting around the island, and I could plan my days efficiently without spending time on long transfers.

Accommodation
I stayed in the rooms in both buildings – Bord Mer and Mills Complex – that are part of La Digue Self-Catering Apartments in La Digue. The furniture and décor strike a nice balance between authentic Seychellois style and everyday functionality.
La Digue self-catering apartments offer air-conditioned studios, superior sea view apartments and family room.
Do note that rooms in both buildings are on the first floor, so you will need to use steps as there is no elevator.

Apartments and studios in Bord Mer and Mills Complex are a beautiful mix of modern comfort and traditional Kreol architecture. I especially loved the teal and green color combination and the usage of materials like wood and stone for the walls and bed lights.
Each apartment has a balcony with outdoor seating (except the Family Room and The Loft in Bord Mer), which quickly became my favorite spot for morning coffee or evening drinks while enjoying garden views.
Room have a double bed that provides excellent sleep quality. There are no single beds, but some rooms also have a sofa that can be converted into a bed.

Rooms and Amenities
During my stay at La Digue Self-Catering Apartments, I was impressed by how spacious and comfortable the rooms felt. The bed was large and plush, exactly what I needed after a day of cycling around the island and hiking to Anse Cocos.
Besides the bed and tropical colors, the highlight for me was the tropical garden views and the spacious bathroom in Bord Mer rooms with hot water and great water pressure. I always joke that it’s so big you could dance the waltz in it!

Another bonus is the essential range of appliances in the kitchenette, with a microwave and refrigerator, oven, full kitchenware, and a coffee/tea maker for my morning ritual on the balcony. I never cooked my own meals, as I was trying out different La Digue restaurants and takeaways. I have used the microwave for some evening popcorn & drink meetings on the large covered balcony, with comfy lounge chairs.
If you are staying in the Mills Complex, there is a supermarket directly beneath the apartments (they don’t sell alcohol though), which was incredibly handy for grabbing essentials without planning a special trip.
WiFi is available at the property, and was working great during my stay. So while in the room, there was no need for me to use the roaming from my Seychelles eSIM.
Fan and air conditioning were a welcome relief from the Seychelles heat. I know there’s a cable TV, an ironing board, and a hair dryer, but I didn’t use them.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
One thing that stood out during my pleasant stay at La Digue Self-Catering Apartments was the exceptional cleanliness. My apartment was spotless on arrival, with fresh linens and perfectly clean surfaces. I even noticed other guests praising the same high standards and other multiple reviews from reviews of La Digue Self-Catering mention this.
Housekeeping visited daily and was both thorough and respectful. Towels were replaced promptly, floors stayed immaculate, and the kitchenette was sanitized.
The property felt well-maintained overall. I’ve never experienced any hiccups, and even when I asked for another set of sheets, they responded quickly and were helpful and pleasant.

Dining Experience
Although there’s no dining available on-site (it’s self catering after all), the staff arranged breakfast at Fish Trap restaurant on the beach right across the road with stunning sea views. It is one of the best restaurants in Seychelles.
Breakfast at Fish Trap is delicious, though a bit slow. You get a fruit plate, spreads, a choice of eggs, and something sweet (like crepes or waffles), with juice and coffee. A perfect start to your day on La Digue.
You can find more info on where to eat in La Digue in another blog post, but don’t worry as the apartments are only 5-minute walk of nerby restaurants and takeaways.

Service and Staff
The staff at La Digue Self-Catering Apartments made my stay (and stay of my tour guests) even better with their friendly and attentive approach.
They are super responsive on WhatsApp, and I was always greeted warmly on arrival. If it was raining, they even picked us up from the jetty (remember, location is walking distance from the La Digue Harbour). Throughout my visits, they were always happy to answer questions about the island.
My guests and I appreciated the small touches of extra towels, help when renting Tatis bicycle right next door to apartments right next to Fish Trap. For convenience, luggage storage is available before check-in or after check-out, which allowed us to explore La Digue freely without carrying our bags.

My experience at La Digue self-catering apartments
After spending multiple stays in various rooms at La Digue Self-Catering Apartments, I can honestly say that comfort and privacy stood out the most. My spacious apartments felt like a true home away from home, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. That is why I keep coming back!
The private balcony quickly became my favorite spot for morning coffee and evening drinks, offering the perfect island retreat while still being just steps from everything.
Most guests I spoke with shared similar positive impressions, particularly praising the central location. Families especially seemed to appreciate having separate living spaces and kitchen facilities.
One of my favorite conveniences was having a supermarket right below the Mills Complex apartments and being the walking distance of the jetty. I could grab fresh bread, a takeaway meal, tropical fruit, or any last-minute souvenir within minutes, without losing precious time on cycling trips.
For independent travelers like me, who want flexibility without sacrificing comfort, these apartments hit the sweet spot.

Value for the money
With a Booking score of 8.7/10, La Digue Self-Catering Apartments offer excellent value. You’re getting a spacious apartment with a kitchenette in a prime location for less than many full-service hotels on the island.
The savings add up when you can prepare your own meals and walk to the nearest beach, convenience store or restaurant. Plus, the comfort and space make evenings at “home” a pleasure rather than a compromise.
